Privacy & Data
Where is my data stored? In Europe, GDPR-compliant.
Is my data used to train AI models? No. Never. It is also never shared with third parties.
What does timelit actually store? Your email conversations, extracted attachment text, and meeting transcripts/summaries form your personal knowledge base. That's what powers Chat, Knowledge Search, and the briefings. Plus your settings and profile. Everything is deleted 30 days after account deletion.
Can timelit send emails as me without my knowledge? Replies to other people are always created as drafts that you send yourself. The emails timelit sends directly go to you (briefings, summaries) or to meeting participants, and only if you explicitly enabled distribution.
Can my admin or teammates see my emails? No. Organizations share billing and membership, never mailbox content. Your knowledge base is strictly per-account.
Setup
Why does timelit need admin approval in my company? Many companies require IT approval for any new app accessing Microsoft 365. See Connecting Microsoft 365; the request-approval flow is built in.
Do I have to connect everything? No. E-Mail, Calendar, and Meetings are separate permissions. Connect what you use. Feature cards show a Connect badge when they're missing their permission.
How long until timelit works after connecting? Usually 5 to 15 minutes. The initial import (about 6 months of email history, past meeting transcripts) continues in the background.
Does anything need to stay open on my computer? No. timelit runs server-side. Close the app, shut the laptop: drafts and categories keep appearing.
Features
Why didn't this email get a draft? Most likely it was categorized as Informational (newsletters, FYI, notifications get no drafts by design), or its sender/domain/category matches one of your exclusion rules.
Why is there no summary for my meeting? There was no transcript. Either transcription wasn't started (enable auto-start, or start it manually via More actions → Start transcription in Teams), or the Meetings permission isn't connected.
Can I undo what timelit does? Yes. Everything lands in your Microsoft account as normal objects: delete a draft, remove a category, decline a calendar event, delete a contact. Nothing is hidden in timelit.
The time-saved numbers on the Dashboard — how are they calculated? Each completed action (draft, categorization, summary, briefing, …) counts a realistic average time it would have cost you manually. It's an estimate, but an honest one.
Billing
What happens when my trial ends? With a payment method on file, your subscription starts. Without one, nothing is charged and timelit pauses until you add one. Your data and settings are kept. Details in Subscription & Trial.
I'm on a team plan and have a personal plan — am I paying twice? Possibly. The app warns you about exactly this. Cancel the personal plan under Settings → Subscription; your team seat keeps you covered.
