Knowledge Search

Send an email to the timelit knowledge address and get the answer back by email, drawn from your inbox and meetings. It's Chat without the app: your assistant has an email address.

    Why we built this

Sometimes the app is the wrong tool. You're on your phone between meetings, you're forwarding a question while traveling, or you simply live in your inbox all day. Opening another app to ask "what did we agree with the supplier?" is friction, and friction kills the habit.

Email is the one interface that's always there. So we gave timelit an inbox: write to it like you'd write to a human assistant, and the answer comes back as a normal email reply, in the same thread, readable on anything.

    How it works

    1. You write an email to the knowledge address. From your connected account, ask your question in the subject or body, in plain language, no special syntax. ("What's the status of the Acme project?", "What did we decide about pricing in the last call?")

    2. timelit searches your knowledge. The same knowledge base Chat uses: your email conversations (including about 6 months of imported history), attachment contents, meeting transcripts and summaries.

    3. The answer arrives as a reply. In the same email thread, usually within moments. Follow-up question? Just reply again.

    What timelit will never do

    • Answer anyone else with your data. Questions are answered strictly from the knowledge of the account that sent them. Your colleague writing to the same address gets answers from their data, never yours.
    • Use your question for anything else. The exchange stays between you and your knowledge base.

    Good to know

    • You find the knowledge email address in the Chat page of the app.
    • The knowledge answers count toward "Knowledge searched" on your Dashboard.
    • The same caveat as Chat applies: answers are AI-generated and cite your data, but verify before acting on critical details.
